If you thought that by feuding The Great Khali with Mark Henry, the WWE is trying to push the "big guys", you are wrong! The Great Khali - Mark Henry storyline was merely to create an injury for The Great Khali character so that the big man can take some time off. It has been learnt that the Great Khali has some time before the contract ends. However, Khali has chosen to stay away from the WWE until the contract ends and also not to renew the contract once it ends.
The Great Khali, at one point of time, was the most dominant heel in the WWE. However, time tells us he is one of the many heels who make the initial impact, but fail to maintain it - like Vladimir Kozlov, like Sheamus, like Umaga, like Alberto Del Rio. These heels can bring in a variety, but can't sustain it. Their characters are welcome changes, but not long-term solutions.
Back to The Great Khali. It is always good to have a few big guys in the WWE. The Great Khali's mysterious nature also adds to the entertainment factor. The presence of The Great Khali, I believe, cannot alone help sustain the Indian fan base. There are more John Cena fans in India than Great Khali fans.
If The Great Khali chooses to leave the WWE, it might be because he believes the WWE is not giving him what he deserves. But, is the Great Khali giving the fans what they expect from him? Khali's future plans are not yet known. If he is planning to go to another wrestling company, he has to work on his mobility or the lack of it, and adopt a new, better style.
