WWE Raw started with the WWE Championship match between Rey Mysterio and The Miz. Rey Mysterio wins the match and becomes the WWE Champion. After the match, The Miz attacks Rey Mysterio. Alberto Del Rio, who tried to cash in his Money In The Bank contract at Money In The Bank pay-per-view, repeated the same thing. However, before Alberto could cash in his Money In The Bank contract, Rey Mysterio attacks him and keeps his title reign intact.
Later the same night, WWE's new Chairman Triple H annouced that the WWE Championship will be defended the same night. It will be defended against none other than John Cena. In the main event, John Cena defeats Rey Mysterio and becomes the new WWE Champion. As John Cena celebrates, CM Punk returns and the two exchange words inside the ring as WWE Raw goes off the air.
